The Founder's Edition

From Knowledge to Market

Turning innovation into enterprise and impact

Knowledge does not create value merely because it exists. It creates value when it is connected to a clearly defined need, translated into a usable solution, validated with evidence, and carried through a viable route to adoption.

The commercialisation gap

Universities, research organisations, companies and public programmes frequently generate promising ideas, prototypes and technical findings. Yet many stop before customers, operating partners and investors can confidently act. The missing element is often not more invention; it is a disciplined development pathway that joins technology, market demand, implementation capability and measurable outcomes.

A needs-to-market pathway

  1. Define the real need: identify the affected user, baseline performance, cost of the problem and decision criteria.
  2. Align business and technology: test whether the proposed capability solves a valuable problem under real operating and commercial constraints.
  3. Generate evidence: move through screening, comparison, prototype and pilot stages with explicit acceptance criteria.
  4. Design the route to adoption: clarify partners, qualification requirements, economics, risks, governance and market entry.
  5. Measure outcomes: track performance, enterprise value, participation, jobs, investment and broader societal impact.

Why this matters

This approach reduces the risk of spending heavily on solutions that have not been sufficiently connected to customers or implementation realities. It also gives industry, institutions and investors a common evidence base for deciding what should proceed, what should be redesigned and what should stop.

The Dehostconsulting role

Dehostconsulting works at the interface of industrial science, market development, project design and socioeconomic transformation. We help partners begin with a defined problem, structure a low-risk validation pathway, coordinate appropriate capabilities and progress credible opportunities toward pilot implementation and market readiness.

Oilfield Chemistry

The Future of Oilfield Chemistry

The next generation of oilfield chemistry will be defined less by adding products and more by proving performance within the complete operating system.

From product selection to performance diagnosis

Separation, produced-water quality, sludge recovery and flow-assurance challenges are shaped by crude composition, temperature, residence time, water chemistry, solids, shear and existing treatment practices. A chemical that performs in one system may fail in another. The correct starting point is therefore representative data and samples—not an immediate product replacement.

A lower-risk qualification pathway

Define the baseline and acceptance criteria; screen candidate chemistries against untreated and incumbent performance; confirm compatibility and dose–response behaviour; then advance only qualified candidates to a controlled field trial. Commercial scale-up should follow demonstrated operational and economic value.

Where sustainability creates value

Lower toxicity, reduced dosage, improved resource recovery and less waste can support both environmental and commercial outcomes. However, “green” claims must remain subordinate to verifiable performance, safe handling and regulatory suitability.

Construction Science

Building with Advanced Cement

Advanced cement systems create value when lower-carbon design, admixture compatibility, constructability and long-term durability are engineered together.

Compatibility is decisive

Cement chemistry, supplementary materials, salts, temperature, mixing energy and polymer architecture influence adsorption, rheology, setting and strength development. Formulation decisions should therefore be based on systematic compatibility testing rather than isolated product claims.

Performance over novelty

Self-healing concepts, high-performance concrete and alternative binders are promising, but adoption depends on reproducible performance, available raw materials, practical production controls, applicable standards and lifecycle economics.

A credible development route

Begin with the required field outcome, establish reference performance, screen formulations, confirm fresh and hardened properties, evaluate durability and constructability, then scale through controlled demonstration projects with documented acceptance criteria.

Strategic Advisory

Chemical Supply Chains in Flux

Resilient industrial supply is built through qualification, transparency and regional coordination—not through the lowest quoted unit price alone.

The hidden cost of apparent savings

Low minimum orders can conceal sample-to-production differences, expensive freight, weak documentation or unsafe payment structures. Buyers need to compare total landed cost, specification compliance, pack sizes, shelf life, lead time, supplier identity and claims support.

Qualification before dependency

A prudent route uses documented prequalification, representative samples, independent testing, batch traceability, staged orders and payment protections. Alternative suppliers should be developed before a critical material becomes operationally dependent on one source.

Building regional resilience

Aggregation, local technical support, appropriate inventory, reliable logistics and selective local blending can improve availability while reducing working-capital pressure. The goal is a supply architecture that remains competitive without sacrificing quality or continuity.
